Reusing your own gold always starts with a story. Whether it's a ring that no longer fits, a chain that's lost its shine, or a family heirloom that's been tucked away in a drawer for years, those unwanted pieces still hold value, and are both sentimental and precious. We melt down your own gold and remodel it into something new: a piece that's timeless, made to be worn and loved for years to come. With metal prices at an all-time high, it's one of the most economical and sentimental ways to create the jewellery you've always wanted, without the price tag that comes with buying new gold.
The process always follows the same steps, but the result is never the same twice, so every piece is entirely personal to you, a new future heirloom born from an old one.
How does this work?
Step One - Identify
We take care to check over every piece you bring to us, looking for hallmarks or stamps of fineness and testing where necessary. We give your gemstones the same attention, drawing on years of experience and, where needed, laboratory testing to confirm each stone's identity, size, and suitability for the design in mind.
Step Two - Melt Down
Once the design is confirmed, we begin working with your gold itself. It's carefully melted down to a molten state, then poured into an ingot to take shape and cool.
Step three - re-model
Now the real fun begins. Using traditional tools and techniques, we work the gold into wire and sheet material, shaping the raw metal into exactly what your piece needs before fabrication begins.
Step four - finishing
This is where your new heirloom truly comes to life. Pre-polishing gives way to stone setting, if required, followed by a final polish. What you're left with is a completely bespoke piece that's personal to you, made to last a lifetime, and made to mean something.
