Frequently asked questions
Why is my jewellery named after women?
Our jewellery collections are named after Amy's very nearest and dearest. Women who inspire her to be the best version of herself everyday. They are strong in their own individual ways, all fighting their own battles but always remaining positive and optimistic in their approach to life. It is these women who inspire Amy to create these collections, their intricacies and flaws, their beauty and friendship. Amy thought about what jewellery would make them happy, make them feel confident and as beautiful as their friendship is to her. These items of handmade jewellery are small trophies of the friendships she has with the women in her life, they know who they are!
Can I personalise an order?
Of course, our favourite thing to do is make bespoke and personalised jewellery for people!
We have several pieces in our bestselling collections that have been designed with the option to personalise the item with birthstone gemstones or initials.
We also offer custom letter stamping on certain items and professional engraving on request. However, this will mean a longer turnaround. Please get in touch to discuss these options if you would like to know more.
If you would like a piece of jewellery made that's totally unique to you, please take a look at our BESPOKE pages and get in touch to start the process.
How long does it take to receive my bespoke jewellery?
It very much depends on what we are creating for you and how much we have in the pipeline already. If you are working to a specific deadline you must let us know and we will always do our very best to meet that deadline and be honest with you if we think it’s not possible to meet it.
What if I don't like my bespoke item?
This should be unlikely as we will work extremely hard to make sure that you like and understand every aspect of the design process before we start work on the physical piece However, if you really don’t like it, don’t worry, we will work with you until we get it right! Getting your dream piece is our priority, and we certainly won't let you go without. Please get in touch via our contact page to discuss this.
Can I cancel my bespoke order?
Once you have given us the go-ahead and the deposit has been paid, the commission has been started. Deposits will not be refunded. We will take every effort to ensure you are happy with your decision before we proceed with the commission.
How will I know if my order has been accepted?
You will receive an order confirmation email to the email address that you provided, stating your order has been placed. You will also receive an email when I have fulfilled your order, along with tracking information from Royal Mail.
How will my order be packaged?
Your order will be packaged up in a FCS (Forest Stewardship Council is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry) produced postal box. The jewellery will be carefully folded into a pocket of tissue paper which is made from recycled materials, is recyclable and also vegan. The tissue is sealed with a paper sticker which is made from 100% recycled paper and is Eco-friendly. The jewellery is, where possible, placed in a cardboard jewellery box with our logo on it which has been made using materials from a FSC forest. This box is also fully recyclable. Our business cards are made from recycled materials and are themselves recyclable. The brown paper tape which secures the box is acid free, vegan and fully recyclable. Amy has put a lot of effort into choosing packing that we all as a team believe will have as little impact on the environment as possible, so we would ask that you please re-use where possible or recycle responsibly.
I’d like to buy a ring but I don’t know my finger size.
The best thing to do is to go to a local jeweller and ask to get your finger sized. Please make sure you get the finger that you want to wear the ring on measured! If that isn’t an option get some string, wrap it around the knuckle of the finger you want to wear the ring on so its snug but not loose or too tight and then measure the string in MM. Once you’ve got the measurement contact us and we can make your ring from that measurement.
We also have some useful sizing guides here.
How do I know what necklace length to buy?
It is probably best to look at any current necklaces that you have that you like the length of. Measure them to see what best corresponds to the lengths that we offer. If you don’t currently have the length you would like, why not use a piece of ribbon and see where you would like the pendant to sit on your chest, then measure the piece of ribbon. If you would like a length that is not available in the drop down menu please do get in touch to see what we can do for you.
We also have some useful sizing guides here.
What size bangle should I buy?
Finding a solid one piece bangle that is the right size is more about the circumference of the widest part of your hand, than the size of your wrist.
See our sizing guides here for more information.
What is the difference between a hallmark and a stamping?
A hallmark is a legal marking that must appear on all silver items that weigh over 7.78 grams, all gold items that weigh over 1 gram and all platinum items that weigh over 0.5 of a gram. A hallmark consists of 3 compulsory components; a makers mark which tells you who made the article, the standard mark which tells you the fineness of the material, and the assay office mark which tells you where the item was struck. The other mark which is not a legal requirement but you will see fairly often is a date letter which tells you what year the item was hallmarked.
A stamping is simply a stamp that a marker has placed on an item, this is usually to represent the type of material the item is made from, for example; SIL or 9ct for silver or 9ct gold. This is not a legal hallmark and is just an indication of the material used. Stamps are often used for items which do not cross the hallmarking weight restrictions.
You will find both methods employed on our jewellery, if however you would like a stamped item fully hallmarked, you can request this at an extra cost, just get in touch.
For more information on official hallmarking, view our dedicated hallmarking page here.
What if what I ordered just isn't me, or the recipient of the gift doesn't like it?
Try not to worry, just use our returns page and go from there. Wherever possible we will try to help out as much as we can. It is important to us that our customers enjoy wearing their jewellery as much as we enjoyed making it, and if that’s not the case we would like to help make that better for you!
However please do bear in mind that not all items can be returned, for example; earrings can’t be returned for hygiene reasons and jewellery that has been specifically personalised for you is non refundable.
